Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

CapturedMemories (“CapturedMemories”, “we”, “us”) is an independent solo project operated by an individual based in Lebanon; it is not a registered company. This policy explains what personal data we handle when a venue, couple, or wedding guest uses the service, and the choices you have. 2. The data we collect

• Account data (venues & couples): name, email address, and organization details, handled through our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Photos & videos uploaded by guests, including any people, faces, or metadata contained in those files.
• Guest contributions: an optional display name and any guestbook message a guest chooses to submit.
• Usage & technical data: log and device information needed to operate, secure, and debug the service.

We do not require guests to create an account or provide contact details to upload.

3. How we use it

We process this data to:

• provide the service — collecting uploads, displaying the live wall, and giving the couple a private gallery and downloads;
• let venue staff moderate content before it is shown publicly;
• keep the service secure, enforce storage limits, and prevent abuse;
• comply with our legal obligations.

Our legal bases (where GDPR/UK GDPR applies) are performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and consent where you provide it (for example, by uploading content).

4. Where your data lives (subprocessors)

We share data only with vendors that help us run CapturedMemories, under contract and only as needed:

• Cloudflare R2 — stores photos, videos, and ZIP exports in a private bucket.
• Convex — application database and backend.
• Clerk — authentication for venues and couples.

We do not sell personal data. Some providers may process data outside your country; where required, appropriate transfer safeguards are in place.

5. How long we keep it

Event media is retained for the venue’s account so the couple can access and download it, and is deleted when the venue or platform operator deletes the event or account. Generated ZIP exports expire automatically. You can ask us to delete your data as described below.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Guests who appear in a photo, or who uploaded one, can request removal by contacting the venue or us at WebDropVenues@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

7. Children

CapturedMemories is not directed to children, and venue and couple accounts are intended for adults (18+). Guests may only upload photos or videos of children if they are the child’s parent/guardian or have that person’s consent. If you believe a child’s data has been uploaded without authorization, contact us and we will remove it.

8. Security

Media is stored in a private bucket and served only through short-lived, unguessable links. Access to event data is restricted to the owning venue and the invited couple. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

9. Changes & contact
